-INTRODUCTION |

The Shree Devi Education Trust, founded by educationists having
vast experience in the field of college education has established
the Shree devi Institute of Social Work, with a view to train students
in professional social work, and prepare manpower for social welfare
and social developments. The college is located in ideal surroundings,
half km from the bus stand, 2 kms from the railway station and 16
kms from the Airport.

| BACKGROUND |

Masters in Social Work ( MSW ) is a two year Post Graduate Degree
course which is aimed at creating awareness among graduate students
regarding social realities and sensitizing them towards, the under
privileged and disadvantaged sections. Social work provides an opportunity
for developing individual personality and responsibilities. Besides,
it provides opportunity to get to know the society better and be of
service to the poor, under priveleged or disadvantaged sections of
society. It also provides professional competence for social work
practice. |
AFFILIATION WITH MANGALORE UNIVERSITY
Shree Devi Institute of Social Work offers a two year post graduate degree
course which is affiliated to Mangalore University. The degree is awarded
to successful candidates as per the University rules and regulations.
